WELCA

January 2003:

Thanks to the "angels" who bought gifts this year for the LSSI single parent program.  They had their party December 19 and I know your presents were well-received and appreciated.  We also donated spritz cookies for their party.

A very special thank you to Evelyn Troline, Melody Anderson and Judy Anderson for transforming the basement of our church into an aromatic, bustling, loving and lucrative cookie factory the first week of December.  Thanks, too, to all of the workers whose enthusiasm and fellowship helped to make a big job fun!

The Ruth Circle served a record crowd after the Sunday School program on Dec. 8th.  Thanks to the people who set up tables, made food, served and cleaned up.

Worship & Music Committee

Worship Committee meetings are scheduled at 7:00 pm on the third Wednesday of each month.

September 18, 2002 meeting:

Next meetings Oct. 16th, Nov. 12th, Dec. 18th

Church constitution has been approved.  THANK YOU to the constitution committee for all your hard work.

The meeting started with a review of the responsibilities of the Worship committee.  The wedding guidelines and policies for 2002 have been reviewed and accepted by the Church Council.  A group will soon be working on the funeral guidelines.

A complete review of the duties of church ushers was completed with suggested changes in duties.  This corrected copy will probably be available for review at the next Church Council meeting.

A great deal of time was spent with the Holy Communion Basic Guidelines.  This material will be presented by Pastor Andres to all council members that assist with Holy Communion, and will be available to all church members   who are called upon to assist with Holy Communion.  It is very important that all Messiah members understand the preparation for Holy Communion.

The Sept. 29th service will be handled by the group Silk Cords.  They are a singing group of 4 very talented ladies from the Galesburg area.

Respectfully submitted by Dale Collis
