One Amazing Year ahead of us!

•  Elsewhere in this newsletter Pastor Laurie shares with you some of her excitement about starting ministry among us. I think you'll find, as I already am, that her excitement is contagious and a joy to take part in.  Allow her to engage you in growth.

•  We have several new council members who, along with the returning members, have a big task ahead of them: the prayerful, joyful operation of the ministry of Christ through his church at Trinity Lutheran. I think you'll find, as I do, that their enthusiasm is Spirit-driven and Word-centered, and a joy to take part in.  Allow them to draw you into a sharing ministry of healing, growth and caring.

•  Our congregation is experiencing steady growth, both through our schools and other channels. Families are coming in to our parish needing to see Jesus incarnate in his Body here at Trinity Lutheran. I think you'll find, as I always do, that these are people longing to share themselves, grow in grace and faith. Allow them to be a part of your lives, of your faith family here at TLC, and we'll all find our lives and joy enhanced.

•  As your pastor, one of the basic concerns I have centers around the need to draw more of you into the actual "stuff' of ministry. Some of it is hard. Some of it is costly.  Some of it brings tears.  Some of it brings blisters.  Some of it brings smiles.  ALL of it brings joy - the kind of joy that comes from seeing the presence of Jesus gradually revealed to us in our daily Christian vocation. Allow yourselves to be Jesus' love and presence in a world that is too often cold and unwelcoming.

Lent Is Upon Us!

Ash Wednesday is February 28th... didn't we just have Christmas?!?  For this Lenten season we will use a preaching series entitled Behold the Tree, which looks at the different trees found in scripture as metaphors for our struggles and trials, leading, of course, to the Tree that Jesus was crucified on. Join us on our Lenten journey!

Blessings and Peace!

Pastor Larry
