How Can It Be September
Already?
All of us who work and volunteer at Trinity
Lutheran Church and School are excited and are working so hard to make
the fall program start-up successful and enjoyable for you who use and
participate in the ministries we offer
here. We have been preparing all
summer long for this coming year, and are a little surprised (or is it
"dazed"?) that it's all about to start up again.
In the Church's ministries:
- Our Music
Ministries are revving up for their fall start-ups - please join us
in praising God and leading His people in praise. Previous groups are
continuing, and new ones are being added.
- Our Educational
Ministries - COW, Confirmation, Sunday School for kids
AND adults - are just about to begin - make sure that you (not just the
kids!) are participating in AT LEAST ONE spiritual growth opportunity
- Our Pictorial
Directory is happening this month . Please sign up, if you
haven't already, and return the church record information to the church
office. It can come in any time, not just when you have your photos
taken.
Please sign up after church services or by calling the church office.
- Our Youth
Program is going wonderfully. See Pastor John's Youth
News
elsewhere
in the newsletter
- Our Endowment
Fund is beginning to bear significant fruits and will be
funding
some wonderful additions to our program at both the church and
school
this year
In the School's Ministries:
- Our New
Principal, Mrs. Kathy Putt, is entering her first full year in the
position and is doing very well at organizing and preparing our facility
and
staff for the fall start-up
- Our school
enrollment is WAY up - to about 215 and still rising - higher
than it has been in my five years here. This means that new teaching
positions are being added (restored, actually), new equipment is having
to
be purchased to accommodate the increased student body, and
classrooms are being put back into service. The level of activity here
this
summer has been incredibly high as we get ready for this year.
- Our Computer
Lab is being completely reworked. We have put ten new
current
generation Windows computers in the Lab, moved many of the
older
Macintosh computers into the lower grade classrooms to give the
younger
children experience with computers, added a computer resource
center
in our school library, and are working at networking all of these new
pc's.
This should happen yet this fall. We also have plans to implement
some
internet curriculum for the upper grades this fall or winter.
- Our Before
and After School Care Program received a grant of $6,900
(thanks
to the diligent work of our director, Mrs. From Sanders!) and is
adding
computers, a study area, games and other equipment, and is
refurbishing
some rooms to make better use of them for the program.
There is SO MUCH offered at Trinity Lutheran,
and it's all offered to serve God and his people. Be sure to take part
in all that you can, and I know you will be richly blessed!
Also please note 2-page
summary of the Church-Wide Assembly included in the Caller. It's all
the information I could get at this time, but more will be coming soon.
Read the Caller, get involved, join in
the fun!
